How to Extend Your Beautiful Lupin Display

So my Lupins have put on an absolutely magnificent display this year. Now though, they are looking a bit ragged, with the flowers dropping and the scruffy looking seed heads taking over. But this doesn't have to be the end of the beauty. With just a little work, we can have a second display of these beautiful flowers!

This is the first year that I've planted Lupins from seed, in my zone 5a. I just planted the seeds in a small raised bed last year in late fall. I, of course, completely forgot all about them and planted other things in that same area this spring. I had several of them come up in the spring so I moved them to a different area, and now they are putting on flower stocks. I'm looking forward to seeing what colors of blooms I'll have. Steve, thanks for the advice. ~Margie
