That little girl is a hero. This is heartbreaking.

"There's a lot of dead bodies."

"I know how to handle these situations. My dad taught me when I was a little girl."

"They asked for help over a dozen times."

"They even offered to unlock the door for officers."

The chills just don't stop. This is horrific and heartbreaking. Those parents raised a brave little girl, but it's so depressing that she even had to be taught about this.

A ten year old girl is telling the dispatcher she knows how to handle these types of situations because her dad taught her when she was a little girl. That tears your heart out.

I’m not sure my heart has ever been as broken as it is right now after hearing that. My daughter is the same age, so this really hit home. Her courage and composure was heroic. I don’t understand how armed officers could demonstrate such cowardice knowing that innocent and injured people were trapped with the gunmen.

Cops: "Okay, full of victims, got it.... Oh! I know! Did he shoot himself

Dispatcher:

Cops: "Oh well, back to the drawing board."

Such miserable incompetence and cowardice.

I want to thank her parents for allowing us to hear their child who is a hero trying to get help for her classmates and teacher. I’m so so sorry sweet girl they should have helped you sooner

"Has he shot himself" - wishful thinking from a bunch of cowards.
"The kids offered to unlock the door.
A field worker mom went in and got her kids

These are the facts.

"I know how to handle these situations. My dad taught me when I was a little girl."

That right there is what broke me because she is still a little girl and she shouldn't have to be "taught" about these horrible things yet, much less actually having to deal with them in a real world situation. But I do admire her bravery, respect and composure because I would be just a complete, total, inconsolable mess.

As a father of a 6 year old this brought me to crying so quickly

“I know how to handle these situations. My dad taught me when I was a little girl." These poor children. It's so depressing they have to be prepared for this.

I'm an adult having a hard time listening to this. The adults were shot and she said dead bodies everywhere and she was doing her best to protect the rest of them by keeping them quiet and get help for those who were still alive.
She kept her cool and was a brave young girl. She's a hero.

I am glad to hear the parents were consulted about this first before releasing any of it.

As an officer of 18 years I found myself hyperventilating and tearing up during an 8 min -10 min video. Anxious beyond comprehension. I have no words for what happened that day. So many armed, trained, protected men that failed beyond repair. I can’t even imagine what those little ones felt waiting on help that seemed to never (and for some never did) arrive. I guarantee so many of those “officers” have attended career days and meet the police functions and 9-1-1 safety Telling kids we are here to help. So much finger pointing and excuses. They will never understand that a failure of this magnitude can never be explained away. The bottom line is very simple. Rules or procedures or confusion or misinformation tossed aside…you let children die. You waited. As officers there should be no doubt in your mind that you would EVER run into a school if something like this happened. I could not live myself if this was me. Every morning I looked in the mirror I’d be reminded of what I really am. A coward. A person who chooses to a coward has that right… but take that damn uniform off and leave it off.

All of those police involved should be relieved of their duty permanently.

What a brave little girl. She held her composure and even reassured the operator that her daddy thought her how to handle those situations. Broke my heart. Shows it definitely is worth it to talk to our kids bout this and explain everything to them

That little girl should have been in charge of the police operation, she did better than them! What a girl. If you see this, Khloe Torres, you are so brave and so smart. I don´t know how you kept your calm. You can be so proud of yourself. I hope you are OK now. Much love from Denmark.

The poor 4th graders even offered to unlock the doors for the police to enter and save them. This is absolutely disgusting. 🥺😭
