In this video we talk about how to compute Improper Integrals of Type I (improper integral with infinite discontinuity) and determine whether the integrals are convergent or divergent. We present three examples here:

0:18 - integral from a number to positive infinity
1:50 - integral from negative infinity to a number
4:40 - integral from negative infinity to positive infinity

I have a question about the last integral; can you use Integration by Parts (since it's a product) or must it be integrated using substitution?

why 1/2 * e^-x^2 becomes zero after subsitituing with infinity?
