CYCLING IN EUROPE | The first 4.000 kilometers of our world trip

The 30th of September 2016 we started our world trip in Amsterdam. The first part took us through Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal, more than 4.000 kilometers of cycling in Europe. We discovered Europe on another way and fell in love with travelling by bicycle. We never did an bicycle touring trip before, not even an overnight trip by bicycle. Therefore we bought second hand Giant touring bicycles for €100 each. Maybe they would fall apart after the first week. We did a 5 minute test ride in Amsterdam and left, without any experience, but very eager to learn and explore everything.

We are Zoë and Olivier, together we are WeLeaf. We are travelling around the world on human power since September 2016. We left Amsterdam by bicycle, hitchhiked across the Atlantic Ocean, cycled the Americas, north and south, hiked on the AT and did the complete Northern Forest Canoe Trail.
