The Promise – Dr. Charles Stanley

Dr. Stanley examines some of God’s promises in relation to humility. Some of our responsibilities as believers are outlined in Chapter 5 of First Peter, where we learn that our humble efforts can be a doorway to grace and provide freedom from anxiety. As we see how to cast our concerns on our heavenly Father, we can walk in daily peace and contentment.

I have come to realize that a walk with God is a walk of growth. Throughout our lives, we are to be growing. The pace of that growth is heavily influenced by our willingness to be in alignment with God. Events that happen to us are often designed by Him to teach us something, and once we learn it, we grow. And it is in growth that we become better. And becoming a better version of ourselves in the eyes of the Lord means we are drawing nearer to Him. And this growth is often times is followed with reward.
