The last few elections, polls have overrepresented Democratic leads and underrepresented Republican leads. One of the main problems with polls is that they often go to a majority Democratic or centrist viewpoint. This is because the working class, which is predominantly Republican, doesn't have time to participate in polls nearly as much as the upper class, which is more likely to be Democratic. If there is a tie between candidates, you can accurately bet that Republicans are leading due to this factor.
