I screamed at my monitor when I saw you take out the hammer and screw driver!!! Interesting (and disappointing) that Aventon didn't send you instructions for removing and re-installing that bushing (would have been even better if they were to send you the jig to safely push the bushing back in). Thanks for posting this - I would love to know how that bushing was supposed to be re-installed (I'm assuming a sleave that slips over the stem that you can tap-down but I've never replace forks before so I'm just guessing).

Thank you for this video. Aventon just sent me a new fork cause my original one had a clanking sound. I am not a bike guy but I am generally mechanically inclined. So I thought I can install it myself with no instructions from them. However mine didn’t come with the starnut in the fork. Now I am stuck with no way to finish the install, and have to figure out how to buy and install that myself. Yours came with it preinstalled, correct?

That piece you hit and broke. I’m guessing it’s some sort of bushing. How do you properly place it in? Because I just applied some pressure on the fork to let the bushing fall through and that seemed to fall into place. Question: does the lowest ring with the Aventon logo spin freely, even after tightening the final bolt?

Can you confirm the Aventure uses a straight steerer tube 1 1/8”? Aventon told me tapered tube, but to me it looks straight from your vid.

Where did you get the fork ring? Did not find on Amazon. Mine is not damaged but does not want to go down and seat in. Mine was also out when we took the stem off.. Dave....
