As someone who worked in Atlanta Georgia for a while, can confirm it’s expensive AF to live in the city. That’s why Atlanta has a bunch of traffic, because everyone commutes from outside of the city to save on rent.

I got a job in Atlanta a few years ago (tech industry) and at the time (2020) rent for a 1 bed studio could cost upwards to $2-3k. Most of these high places are in dense and popular locations, like near Georgia Tech. However, the area I was looking was not as dense and I was about to sign a lease on a 1bed apartment for about $1600 a month. Thankfully I decided not to do that and ended up sucking it up, commuting to Atlanta and buying a house outside of Atlanta. I pay about $1200 a month for a property I own now, with 3b 2b in a acre of land in a quiet neighborhood in the country.

New York City not on the list? I call bullshit. I live in Fort Worth.
