I bought a Vintage 1960s Easy Bake Oven and baked a mini cake!

Hello lovelies,
I randomly found a 1960s Easy-Bake Oven at an Estate sale, and I was so excited to try it and see if it works. I always wanted an Easy Bake Oven when I was a kid and never got one. So now I am fulfilling my childhood fantasy of owning my own vintage Easy-Bake Oven. I ended up making a mini Betty Crocker Cherry Chip cake, and it turned out so well! I was honestly shocked that this little oven works so well after all of these years.

Oh I loved my Easy Bake Oven! I had the same one from the 60s. I baked my little heart out with my friends. What good memories this brings back. That is really cool Laura, I am envious. Thank you for sharing!. 😊💜🍰

Please more vintage baking videos! This was so fun to watch you bake - thank you Laura! I’m obsessed with vintage food items such as the infamous jello molds with veggies and meat inside, especially the salmon shaped jello molds! Salmon, cream cheese, jello and a few other ingredients were combined and placed in the mold. I would love to see something like that on your channel.

Wow! I remember mine. I had the 1973 model, it was avocado green in color. I used to make my Dad 4 layer cakes and gave them to him after dinner. He used to eat them and say what a great cook I was! That was a big deal to me. The larger tray that came with it was to bake cookies on, at least the one I had, that's what it was for. My original Easy Bake O ven came with a white cake mix ayellow cake mix, a chocolate cake mix, chocolate and vanilla frosting. A chocolate chip cookie mix and a chocolate brownie mix. How do I remember that? I just do, I even remember opening at my Grandparent's home on Christmas morning, lol!
You have to remember, back then it was required that girls knew how to cook, clean, and mend clothes. I remember at 5 years old sitting watching tv on a Sunday evening darning socks! Women were busy from sun up to sun down. I remember on Monday's my Mom would get up before everyone, make breakfast, sort the weekends laundry and start it, (mind you she was already dressed for the day) then she'd look through the cupboards and fridge/freezer, make a grocery list, clip coupons. Dress which ever young xhild was at home. Go to town, shop, pay bills, run errands. Be home by lunch, put clothes in dryer, grab a quick bite. Do whatever was on her chore list to do, start dinner. Remember, there was always an appetizer, salad, main course and dessert EVERY night. Do dishes, bathe kids, etc. etc. etc. Yep women and men were constantly busy at their individual family jobs, kids included. It was kind of a disciplined thing. Not like today where everyone in the family is scattered about. Women got lots of practice cooking and baking and yeah most women were good at it. I personally feel that this is how we should still be living. The world would be a better place!!!

I had one in the mid sixties as a little girl. I absolutely loved it! Supposedly they were dangerous but we never got burned.

This brings back so many memories of baking cakes in the 70s with my gran. The only thing missing is the colored candy sprinkles. I remember one year we made a snowman cake with 3 circular pans and made the cakes different sizes, then frosted him white and went over him with coconut shavings.

I had the Betty Crocker Easy Bake Oven from 1973. It was a reddish orange color. I think they called it poppy red. I was only 4-years old and received it for Christmas 1976. I took it apart because I wanted to see what made it work. A light bulb. I put it back together and baked my little heart out. Brings back good memories.

I had this oven. Wow...long ago in a land faraway. Used the Betty Crocker Kids cookbook from the 60s also in the kitchen with my Nanny (maternal grandmother) watching over me. Wonderful memories!

Ok, that was fantastic! I totally wanted an Easy Bake Oven when I was younger! My cousin had one, was a total tomboy and hated it, so I got to use it once when visiting her. Thanks so much!❤️🎂
