This is so catchy, but also yes, my ears are tingling too. Let me bring this up with congress next time I’m there 😂

I once heard 48 hrs of Louie Louie, on a radio station changing formats! You would be amazed at the artists who covered this tune

Was in the marching band in high school for 4 years, played almost every football game, and played this song at least 3-6 times per game, never knew the lyrics until now….

I'm convinced that this was the primary reason for the creation of the Internet.

For me, there has been at least three songs with lyrics that are completely lost on me just by listening to them. 1) Louie Louie, 2) Blinded by the Light, 3) Long cool women in a black dress.

“These morons have gone too far” has to be one of the greatest reviews that any rock n roll band can get. The song was first released by Richard Berry in 1957, but when The Kingsmen released their raucous version in 1963 it took the world by storm. In 1964 the FBI launched an investigation into the lyrics after a parent wrote to Robert Kennedy, terrified of what the Kingsmen might be saying.

The Bureau investigated The Kingsmen without ever looking into the original version of the song, or consulting the lyrics that they had on hand in the US Copyright Office. In the end, the FBI determined that the lyrics were “unintelligible at any speed.”

This was very well done and informative. Yes the FBI did follow these guys around and went to their performances. This Kingsmen lyrics video for Louie Louie is what I personally believe is more accurate and correct than the other Kingsmen Louie Louie lyrics video that states that it is " the real lyrics for Louie Louie " again this lyrics video for Louie Louie is very well done.

MOTORHEAD did a cover of this song that is second to none. True to the song and more importantly true to ROCK N ROLL.

How could they think these lyrics are offensive? It was a great dance song. All the local bands played it in the clubs.

This song is a gem and the beginnings of a more hard rock style. The drum sound is heavy. Sentence structure was odd but then I think he’s talking the way a Jamaican would. Is this about a Jamaican girl?

Surprisingly good guitar solo. The vocalists slur is brilliant and is well ahead of its time.
Sort of Dexy's vibe to it.

Ah yes, the great 60s moral panic. Karens are not a new phenomenon.

Louie Louie, oh no, you take me to where ya gotta go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, baby
Louie Louie, oh baby, take me to where ya gotta go
A fine little girl, she waits for me
Me catch a ship across the sea
Me sailed that ship all alone
Me never think I'll make it home
Louie Louie, oh no no no, take me to where ya gotta go, oh no
Louie Louie, oh baby, take me to where ya gotta go
Fuck
Three nights and days I sailed the sea
Me think of girl constantly
On that ship, I dream she there
I smell the rose in her hair
Louie Louie, oh no, take me to where ya gotta go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, baby
Louie Louie, oh baby, take me to where ya gotta go
Okay, let's give it to 'em right now
Me see
Me see Jamaica, the moon above
It won't be long me see me love
Me take her in my arms and then
I tell her I'll never leave again
Louie Louie, oh no, take me to where ya gotta go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, baby
Louie Louie, oh baby, take me to where ya gotta go
I said me gotta go now
Let's hustle on out of here
Let's go
