They are getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023.

I love seeing people who have never heard Pentatonix react to Mitch singing for the first time

Omg “they get out of each other’s way” AND “they leave room for everyone else.” I mean, no words.

"What a good BARITONE"
Avi: 😂😂😂😂

First verse was baritone Scott Hoying. He also takes over the bass line when the bass takes the lead. Second verse, Avi Kaplan, left the group on good terms in 2017. Avi is greatly missed but his replacement, Matt Sallee, is really coming into his own. Third verse was of course Kirstin Maldonado, a wonderful Mezzo soprano. Fourth singer, Mitch Grassi is the fabulous counter tenor. He, Kristen and Scott have been singing together since high school. The beat boxer, Kevin Olusola, is also a tenor and plays cello and piano. And yes, you will hear him sing occasionally when he’s not too busy keeping the beat.
Edited to clarify that Avi Kaplan is the bass.

From what I've heard, PTX got the ultimate compliment when, before he passed away, Leonard Cohen (who wrote "Hallelujah") watched and heard this video and stated that it was the best version of his song he'd ever heard. Considering that everybody and their brother has covered this song, that's a hell of a compliment.

All of them. Listen to all of them. I am musical and they make me cry every time. Sound of Silence. Mary Did You Know, Little Drummer Boy, Bohemian Rhapsody……………. ALL OF THEM!

"Gold" by Kiara is a live recording and shows the brilliance of Mitch's technical prowess.

“The one with the hat” he’s Mitch, our queen. And I’m thankful that you didn’t stop during his part. I can tell, you can listen to hallelujah 1 hundred times and STILL have goosebumps. I’m a pentaholic (its the name of people who loves Pentatonix) for 4 years and STILL be impressed by their talent.

Okay, Okay, I think your comments and enthusiasm deserve my subscription. I'd love to hear your reaction to "Imagine, " "The First Noel, " "Mary did you know?, " "Sound of Silence, " "Havana, " and just today they dropped, "Mad World." Oh yeah, one or two more: "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Can you feel the love tonight?" Here's the thing. I still get goosebumps and glistening eyes from hearing them sing Hallelujah, and I've probably heard it a 100 times!

3:17 - "Oh what a good baritone." My dear sir, you have no idea how good. Go back and listen to that last chord again. That would be a Bb. Not that Bb - the one an octave lower that you and I can't hit. And he's just getting started.

The singer is Avi Kaplan, who left the group a couple years ago, as their tour schedule was taking a toll on him. His first release after he left is "Change on the Rise". That would make a great reaction video.

"They get out of each other's way." Perfect description. I have also heard it described by saying they listen to each other. Beautiful.

Welcome to the Pentaholics train! There literally isn't a song that they've produced that isn't amazing in not only arrangement, but harmonics. Their ability to take on current pop songs is polished. You'll be watching this group til either you, or they die. I know I will. Their version of a Daft Punk mashup earned them their first Grammy. How many acapella groups do you know that have Grammy's? Whether a produced video or live in human beings.

In essence, their doing a dance with their voices. Its like an epic ballet. Each one builds off the other, both leading and following when necessary. Its this ability to perfectly coordinate their voices together to compliment each others strengths while also covering each others weakness, WITH PERFEC TIMING, that makes them the single best acapella group I have ever heard. PERIOD.
