Waqf Amendment Bill | Owaisi Slams Waqf Bill, Accuses Centre of Seizing Muslim Charity Properties

AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly criticized the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024, alleging that the central government is attempting to seize control of Waqf properties in six states, including over 200 in Delhi. Owaisi argued that Waqf properties are private and were donated by Muslim individuals for charitable purposes, not public properties that can be taken over by the government. He accused Prime Minister Modi of trying to eliminate the 'Waqf by user' system and warned that the bill's provisions would allow the government to take over properties if deeds are not registered.
