Google sent me a free Nest for being a YouTube premium customer. It would turn on when no one was talking, or say random things so I unplugged it.

I had an experience that when I was talking to myself, my Alexa just spoke without me saying the chosen wake word before. I thought that was a little bit creepy.

My Google Home a couple times now while the wife and I just sitting there watching tv, It said {Ignor the Bitch} No Joke

NO WAKE WORD IS REQUIRED!
The one on my phone wakes uo and eavesdrops constantly! The next thing I know- I'm seeing advertisements about things that came up in private conversations within my home. Also, if I check my phone for something else- I can see if she's (Alexa) awake. About half the time- she is.

They claim Alexa is only always listening for the wake up word--then and only then is it recording. That's demonstrably not true. I had my wife finally convince it was true (I thought it was) so she would allow the echo in the family room. I wanted her to be able to answer the door (Ring connected), from her chair, be able to call me up-stairs on the echo in the TV room, video call her daughter, etc. Those plans all came crashing down when, she was talking to me about what's for dinner and said the word "potato". Now, "potato" does not sound anything like "Alexa", yet the echo device chimed up "I'll add potato to your list." My wife freaked out. Now the device is sitting on a table near the front door.

My Alexa turned on so many times with this video lol 😂 omg I had to keep saying Alexa off!!!!

No audio should be recorded at all. And mine turns on ALL THE TIME without saying alexa. And it is no longer plugged in. Our phones are spied on enough .

Alexa just turned on for a moment when I turned my Fire over. I disabled her after that.

Ive let this go and moved on. But they wont. Why old Amazon managers I added on Facebook are still talking about me. It listens in more than you know. Yall have no clue

There is a conversation between Alexa and Siri. Guy asked: „hey Siri, what do you think about Alexa?“ Siri did answer: I think she is a great designed Product… from the end of the room, Alexa answered: „oh thank you Siri, that is very kind“….
Unfortunately this is a true story!
