4858 Migrating from ISC DHCP to Kea

preview_player
Показать описание
ISC DHCP is embedded in a lot of networks, buried in the infrastructure nobody wants to touch. It still works, and in a very static network, it should continue to work reliably for a while. At some point, when you have to update the server or the network, you will discover the software is no longer maintained, you won't be able to find packages for your OS, and you will need to migrate to a new DHCP server system.

“I’m just so happy about the documentation” - that made me smile, because I completely get that

How many customers will KEA serve? Will the server cope with ISP clients for example 300k?

Funny through the talk I was thinking about companies that had a significant engineering investment in isc-dhcp I worked with a few one of them being Bluecat I almost felt their question coming.

kea dhp server stops and unuable to restart. Only after deleteting /tmp/kea4-ctrl-socket.lock you can restart DHCP. However this is aa temporary fix. It will hapen again after a couple of days and this is an issue for my network. I am trying dor 20 days to find solution and found nothing. I think this problem exists a year ago. You guys in KEA, do you read this ?
