Factory Reset is basically resetting the headset back to its state when you first buy and launch it up, all of your data is lost, but since you have a oculus account, you will keep stuff on the account, like the songs and cosmetics.

That colourful circle when it was resetting is not just exclusive to oculus it is on android 8.0 and above (I think) so that means phone tablets etc

factory reseting in fact is nothing horrible you jst have to log in to ur account and reinstall all ur games you have a everything sense the IP is authorized

Everyone should know this, but everything that you buy, is stored on Meta's servers, which means EVEN if you buy another headset you will still have everything, well now they allow you to upload your videos to the cloud so you dont loose them, but hey it works!

context: if you dont know, that Is the android reset ring, that shows when factory resseting devices. it shows on SOME devices, especially that Oculus.

You didnt have to factory reset it... It usually means it stuck on a firmware update and you needed to hold the power button for 30 sec and it should fix..

If you tried to get into fastboot, you could dump your data, although after resetting you'd have to try and inject the data back in. So tbh it's better not to.
