Duramax Turbo Noise (Whine) Issue

Hopefully someone can comment and help me out with this. First off, I know I need motor mounts now lol. A couple of weeks ago my LB7 started making this horrid whining noise when building boost under load. Checked for boost leaks, found a small one and fixed it but the sound did not change. Replaced the alternator and ac compressor with brand new units, as well as the belt, idlers, tensioner and steering pump. I was hoping it wasn’t my turbo but now I’m assuming it is. I had it rebuilt about 25,000 miles ago and had the back housing ported. Works just fine, still builds normal boost pressures. Bent blade on the compressor wheel? Failed bearing?

Intake pipe going into turbo may not be seated well on the turbo. This will emanate that sounds. Have a look and make sure it is seated well all around. This is more especially with anyone with a lml duramax. Loosen clamp, center the pipe and tighten clamp. Have a look first

Sounds like a exhaust manifold leak or you just a good flowing air filter. When I get a fresh filter I can here it in the cab for a few thousand miles

What causes the dry sound when you released the accelerator? Almost like a dry breath or a fan spinning down?

That could be your power steering pump. One of my friend's 7.3l powerstroke had that problem while he was driving.
