"I am calling upon every college and university to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism, which recognizes that Anti-Zionism is or can be a form of antisemitism. If you’re targeting a Jewish institution, like Hillel, simply for being Jewish, you’re guilty of antisemitism. If you’re making antisemitic threats or tropes that substitute the word ‘Zionist’ for ‘Jew’, you’re guilty of both Anti-Zionism and antisemitism."

Translation: AIPAC, I’m ready to take your money.

So he sold out freedom of speech for almost $2mil.

Basically, he is saying that we as Americans can not say anything negative against Israel. The only thing that would make Torres change his mind is if his AIPAC money dried up.

Things that are obviously unconstitutional have become so normal that we're tired of pointing it out.

Criticizing isreal is not antisemitic. This is just a tactic to shut down debat. A debat they know they cannot win.

Money in politics is a decease and Ritchie Torres is a symptom of the rot.

AIPAC must have quadrupled its donations to Ritchie Torres, their good old boy never fails to come through for them. Torres is the perfect example of someone who has sold their soul and moral compass to the Devil for 30 Pieces of Silver. Hope it was worth it Ritchie, although KARMA has a way of striking back. That a black gay man is behaving like this is beyond repugnant.

Unconditional aid to Israel is illegal. All U.S. aid provided to any nation is contingent on conditions transcribed in federal law.

Being uncomfortable is not a human rights violation 🤦

How about an anti genocide policy. Is that important?

So, if, as an American citizen, I were to criticize the American government and/or its policies, would that make me 'Anti-American?' This is the SAME logic. . . for a FOREIGN state! I'm sorry, but the very idea that we, as American citizens, cannot criticize FOREIGN states and their governments/ policies, THAT would be Anti-American!

Ana; thank you for reminding everyone of the recent murder of an American citizen, Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, in the West Bank. However she was a Turkish-American and thus in the eyes of Americans a second-class citizen.

Last I checked, Israel is officially a secular state....
Saying Israel is a Jewish state is like saying the US is a Christian state.

With that said, this is asinine. The US government is an auction and it's sickening.

I agree with TYT on this. Torres has lost his mind. We need to eradicate corruption in politics.

I liked Torres’ push for the cashless ban in NYC stores (meaning that stores in NYC have to accept cash as a payment option). But his consistent, fervent support of anything Israel is just too much. He’s getting some great checks from AIPAC. He represents the South Bronx! His support of Israel doesn’t even make sense compared to who his constituents are (mostly Latinos and Black people).

So, the act of criticizing theocratic governments, at a University, will get you expelled? What country has that law?
is this a normal thing? Ad hoc censorship legislation?

He is AIPAC server and gets money from them a sold out. Shame on him!

Why not just remind people to always ask just how old is Israel and what was there prior to that? Just that very fact alone creates a character profile to how they perceive things and where their society is leading to, and it also groups those advocating in favor of such as our politicians. From the viewer standpoint, it's unwise to ever do business with these set of characters because it's beyond obvious that they cant be trusted to ever hold public office. So if free speech is MONEY, then Israel and those within the Jewish community are legit buying a Genocide thanks to our interpretation of Free Speech which apparently is money, neglecting the fact that not everyone has equal representation when it comes to a standard figure used to influence which means that their voice is being interpreted by our Government and other as louder than everyone else's. That's not Freedom of Speech. Also, doesn't that mean that our politicians are intentionally giving away our Freedom of Speech to foreign interest via aid to Ukraine, Israel and other in the form of BILLIONS of dollar? That's a lot of Freedom of Speech that's not being used on US citizens.
