1:48 is the reason why he got fired. Apparently, Twitch was a big partner for the WWE at the time and he accidently "insulted" them by stating that no one has heard of them.

The fact they fired him is a true sign to me that my childhood Is dead. To be honest the WWE turned its back on us fans from the 90s and early 2000s because Linda thought it should be favored to kids and I'm like I was 7 watching Stone Cold bleeding out while facing Bret Hart. They turned their backs on us.

He wasnt drunk - he even says in the Intro that he has had bouts of Bells Palsy, which can make you speak more slowly and slur your speech. It makes you sound exhausted.

J.R. spoke about wrestling, and that's what made people mad. He was not in Entertainment, he openly critizised the idea, that wrestlers have to look a certain way. And then the thing about the sponsors was the final drop, I think. For me... this worked well. I like it, when people are telling the truth and tell what's on their mind. J.R. is a professional and can say that, because he (as opposed to many internet smarks) actually worked behind the scenes and knows what's going on.

I always felt like Vince never did like JR but knew he was a one of a kind announcer and the work he did in talent relations was top notch from all the talent he signed to making sure they got paid on time and paid fairly

I strongly feel that JR was waaaay to important to WWE then 2k sports and is so loved by fans that firing him FOR THIS was probably one of the top 5 WORST decisions WWE has ever made!!

WWE Fires one of if not the greatest commentator in WWE History for just making a mistake on their video game. He has promoted some of the greatest matches and making the matches so anticipating just to get fired for making a mistake on a video game SMFH.

He wasn't fired because of this. He actually returned once in a while to be a special guest commentator. Especially for undertaker vs Roman Reigns. He only left because there was more money opportunity in AEW.

Vince has ruined this company in the past decade its lost so many fans that have watched for years I understand they have to appeal to kids and make it age appropriate but they need to balance it out so WWE appeals to adults and kids
anyone younger than 11 or 12 shouldn't be watching wrestling anyways. Idk how the WWE hasn't gone bankrupt yet with how many horrible business decisions they've made recently.

I don't find anything wrong with this event. And after the decades of loyalty to WWE through commentary scouting and public relations events, I expected more leniency. So what if he's a little off the cuff?!?
