I tried water and lemishine on a stainless muzzle brake in an ultrasonic cleaner… turned it spotless within 5-10 minutes… zero scrubbing, just rinse. Amazing result. Note: Compatibility with other coatings/finishes is unconfirmed.

Area 419 specifically states that you SHOULD NOT use CLR or Lemi Shine to clean their muzzle brakes. I personally use and recommend what they suggest C4 Carbon Remover by Bore Tech. Works great on AR bolts as well.

Using CLR on rifle parts is stupid, unless you're restoring an old rusty gun... Carbon build-up is neither Calcium / Lime / nor Rust (oxidation).
And that Cerakote DEFINITELY looked effected, very faded...

I tried CLR on an MDT muzzle brake with black nitride finish… the nitride finish reacted with the CLR and went from shiny to flat.

let that brake sit for 24 hours and then rinse with hot water. 90% of carbon will come off. for what's left, let it sit in new CLR for another 24 hours and what's left will come off easily.

That cerakote looks hazed, dull and splotchy. It looks exactly like when I ruined a Dead Air Silencers muzzle brake by using CLR. PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!
