A money tree is believed to bring good fortune so why not fill your whole house with them 🙌🏽

Fun fact: The Pachira Aquatica Plant aka the money tree branches each have five leaves, representing the five fundamental Feng Shui elements: wood, water, fire, earth and metal.

And as always, leave me your questions about your money trees in the comments!

I'm so glad I found your channel. Your plants all look so beautiful, you are very knowledgeable and have a great personality. Please help me with my Money Tree plant. I've had it for 1 1/2 years. All was fine until many leaves were turning yellow and dropping off. Then, the day before Mother's Day of this year, when I put on my glasses, is when I noticed tiny black gnats in the soil. This plant has never been outside and I have no idea how it could have picked up bugs. I searched on YouTube, and one person suggested removing all soil and soaking the roots in a 3 to 1 ration of water and peroxide for an hour and then repotting with all fresh soil, to spray the leaves with a 4 to 1 ratio of water and peroxide. And then water it with a 4 to 1 ratio of Water and Peroxide. I did this and when repotting, I found so many different suggestions online about soil, that I didn't know which to follow and ended up following someone who suggested half Miracle Gro Indoor Potting Mix and Miracle Gro Perlite. It didn't stand up well on its own and let it lean against the wall for support, but now it seems to be standing a bit better. But the leaves are still turning yellow and dropping off, and my once beautifully full Money Tree is now sparse and pathetic looking. When I changed the soil, I repotted it in the same plastic container it came in, which has holes at the bottom for drainage. The tree trunks together measures 2 inches around and there is a 1 inch space from the trunks of the tree to the perimeter of the pot. The pot itself measures 4 1/2 inches. Could it possibly need a larger pot? The smallest size ceramic pot I could find which would be larger than its original container measures 6 inches across. I read somewhere that a container too large could hold more water, in turn causing the roots to rot. I am afraid that if the ceramic pot is too large, that the roots will rot. I love plants but have never been successful with them. A friend of mine gave me the Money Tree 1 1/2 years ago, and I love that little tree. I haven't noticed tiny black bugs in the soil anymore, but it is still actively dying. When I came across your channel and saw how beautiful your plants are, I subscribed, but couldn't find the answers to my questions about how to save my baby. I hope that what I've done so far to try to save it, is not actually continuing to kill it. I don't know what to do and I hope and pray that you will be able to advise me of how I can save my precious Money Tree plant. Thank you in advance, Krystal.

Money trees hold water in the trunks for awhile so you don't have to water as often. Sitting in too wet of soil causes trunk rot, too dry of soil and your trunks shrivle. Most come with rubber bands binding their roots together as well as there leaves and stems. I cut them and repot bc if not, it's hard not for them to suffocate and rot themselves. I water not just by feeling the soil but also the trunks.
