Cottonwood Canyon Road - Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument - Utah - May 26, 2013

Cottonwood Canyon Road transects the eastern portion of the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in Utah. It travels north and south between Hwy 12 and Hwy 89 in southern Utah. It passes just to the west of the Kaiparowits Plateau through some beautiful and desolate country.

I was thinking about renting a 4WD next time we're near Page, just to do this road and the white Wahweap hoodoos. You just convinced me of having to do this by all means. Thanks from Germany for posting it .

It all depends on the conditions. It if is wet you would need 4WD. Definitely need high clearance though (8"+).
