Wow! When I first started playing this, I wasn't sure I'd sit through the whole 30+ minutes... but I did, and I loved it! Everything you guys talked about is familiar! Thank for doing this! I look forward to future installments. :) BTW, I've been ordering parts from Digikey for a number of years. :) Maybe the "NEXT STEP" would be another chain of stores, to replace what Radio Shack USED TO BE: *THE* local store for electronic parts... a place for Makers! :)

Terrific discussion between two leaders of today's Maker movement. I especially enjoyed learning about the origin of the name "Digikey." Ham radio folks are natural makers. I began my maker/tinkerer/gadgeteer path as a preteen and moved from there to ham radio. This was long ago, back in the days of vacuum tubes and Allied Radio in Chicago.

I live in Thief River Falls but don't work at Digi-Key. It's great having Digi-Key in town. Makes it easy to get parts fast for my electronic projects!

Digikey is awesome. Customer support with live chat & toll free phone numbers, pre and after sales support with RMA links, and great prices. Adafruit can learn a LOT from them.

Love this interview. When I've built headphone amplifiers, Digi-Key is where I was able to get most of my components. Very seldom did I have to resort to Mouser or Newark to get parts.
P.S. The audio is flipped (I hear Limor on the right and Dave on the left).

Really interesting video. I would loved to have seen / photographed the original Digi-Keyer when I interviewed the previous CEO, Mark Larson for my website. It is amazing how many acorn seeds like the Digi-Keyer and other maker ideas turn into really large "oak trees" like Digi-Key.
