"trying" can mean "making an attempt"... but it can also mean "testing one's patience"

As someone who's been driving a base model car from 2010 for the past 12 years, I have a very different perspective. I was very impressed with this car most of the way through the video. Almost every complaint he has either didn't register to me as a problem at all or I just don't care about. Plastic panels? My car has worse. Gotta press a button to unlock? Honestly that's how I prefer it. Heated and ventilated seats in front and back is awesome, you almost never see that. A terrible UI in the car? It has Android Auto, and a backup camera, so it's already a massive upgrade over what I got.

Honestly this video sold me on this car as a good budget option, with no real significant downsides (for me), until he said it cost $50, 000. I was assuming this was a budget car so it was more affordable. Suddenly those minor nitpicks and complaints seem more reasonable for such an expensive car.

Having just spent 5 weeks in Vietnam and just about to leave, I've seen so many of these! They've even got the VinBus and Vinfast scooters that look gorgeous. there's a Vinfast taxi company here who use the bikes and cars exclusively. I believe they've even got a charging network.

I've actually driven this car, unlike most of the commenters who I suspect are regurgitating other content creators' opinions, and I gotta agree with you. No, it's not exceptional in any sense of the word, but it's... fine. Certainly it's not the utter disaster some commenters seem to believe it is, at least. It's a mediocre transportation appliance whose biggest flaw is the asking price relative to the competition-- at $30-35k it would actually measure up. But if I bought (or more likely, leased) this car and gave it to my mom to replace her aging CRV, she would drive it without complaint, with the one wildcard being reliability of course.

The same event or object can be evaluated differently by different people; some may judge it as A while others may judge it as B. There are those who may love it, and those who may hate it. We should respect all opinions and evaluations. Whether it is right or wrong, it will surely contribute to making something better.

I got a 2023 vinfast vf8 plus on dec 26 of last year. I can say the software is a bit buggy but this car isnt as bad as most yt reviewers put it out to be. Its been 4 months now and we are quite happy with it, other than the software where we update it at the dealer every 3 months to keep it work most efficient. There is a 10 years warranty so i trust. Definitely worth 65k canadian dollars.

AFAIK, creep mode is supposed to control whether or not the car creeps forward, not prevent you from rolling backward. Not that it's not something that shouldn't even happen in the first place in an EV.

that fan blowing might be a feature some cars have of blowing air through the vents after you lock your car, to prevent moisture and any growth. my new hyundai has it too, sometimes i come back into the car after a quick errand and the fans are still going. vinfast is from vietnam where it’s pretty humid so it might be that!

I would never buy a Vinfast in it's current state. But compared to Fisker, I respect the effort they went through to try and rapidly address some of the issues like suspension. That they would go so far as to implement hardware changes and retrofits, not just software updates, I think speaks to how hard they're trying. Could have saved themselves a lot of headache with more testing, but there's still something commendable in the company. Hope they learn from this and their future launches are more compelling.

After buying my first car with a HUD, I kind of want to only have cars with a HUD now. It's really nice.

For a company that came out of nowhere, this new company is making some impressive moves.

I actually really like the display. It's simple and easy to use. I don't want to have to dig through layers of things to find a basic setting. The AC vents are fantastic compared to Tesla. Also from what I can see the panels actually line up which seems like an expectation Elon still can't figure it out. Honestly, if I could afford a car and my choice was between this and the Model take the VinFast

as a Vietnamese, seeing our country made product is being reviewed by one of the biggest tech Youtuber on the planet right now is such a privilege. Thank you for all your feedback and I hope that Vinfast would take this seriously to improve the car in its future models like they did with the one that Donut reviewed

As an EV owner, as fun as the instant torque is, I've learned that it isn't a feeling everyone enjoys. Especially people who don't regularly drive EVs. I can see why a new company would want to garner more new customers by making the car feel more familiar.

Not driving without buckling up is an excellent feature and can save a lot of lives.

One thing I have noticed about these VF8 reviews on various reviewers panned it, some were optimistic. Same ratio for commenters. However, basically ALL of the commenters who actually purchased and driven them were very happy with it. And I would say those should carry the most weight! Its hard to find a buyer who has any regrets so far
