I have to do this next month. hoping one of those strut spreader tools will make this

That looked like hard work! Looks easier to pop the lower balljoint and remove the hub assembly with the old strut attached.

Really nice video as I'm about to do this on my 2007 S80. From experience with my S40 if you keep the expander tool (chisel, bolt flattened on two sides, expander bit, etc.) in the gap to spread the mount the removal and installation of the strut into the knuckle goes much faster.

Also about to try this later today, is there any reason you didn't go up from under the knuckle to bash the strut out? At 5:35 it looks like you could have just used a wide punch or an air hammer from the bottom. Was the boot in the way?

Thanks man! I gotta do this on my little Bro's car this week, but his strut is snapped... so I'm gonna use an air hammer on it hopefully that will make the removal easier. Also gonna respray it after breaking it free with the chisel.

Sounds bad huh? Well even worse my only helper IS my little Bro!!! So maybe google Air-hammer murder next week

Is it normal for the front end to sit higher than the back after changing the struts
