@a_walsh One of the most famous stories in the Bible is the book of Jonah. People have always assumed he was swallowed by a whale when in fact if you read the scripture it says God prepared a big FISH.
“Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.” - Jonah 1:17
A whale is a mammal so a Jonah could not have been swallowed up by a whale.
God is creator of all things, so many biblical historians, researchers and scientists believe that Jonah was swallowed by a whale shark. Which is the biggest fish in the sea, they can be as big as an 80 person school bus, and they are incredibly docile.
I believe Jonah was in the belly of this fish for 3 days and 3 nights, as this story is not only in the Bible it actually is also written in the Quran as this one of the biggest stories of the time.
