Takes me back to the '60s and my old 356 which then was just a used car. Ran it in winter with reg tires since as a student could not afford snow tires. Drove it everywhere including from Toronto to Mt. Tremblant in Quebec (about 600 km) over Christmas break to go skiing. The things you do when you're 21....and survive.

I lived in France near the Alps for 3 years with a BMW (also a RWD car) and winter / snow tyres made it absolutely no problem - but also it was a legal requirement to change tyres during winter. Something the UK doesn't do yet. People underestimate winter tyres.

Driving a RWD BMW and having driven one for years, I must say the Tyre width really plays an important part in how much traction you get on snow. My 320d wears 215/55/17 during the winter and I literally never had traction issues so far. I bet that Porsche had at least 275/35/20 which makes it rather tricky...

This is literally my dream car, Zürich is awsome ... have friends there, greetings from Austria :-) I love that someone is simply using a car like this as a daily driver and enjoying it no matter what instead of "saving it" for the nice weather days of the year. It looks incredible in the snow with the snowboard attached to it. :-)

They're superb on snow! With winter tyres, of course. I drove up to a ski lift in the UK last year (try not to laugh, they do exist!) with a snowboard on the roof of my then 911. Passed a family walking up the track, and when we all got to the top they told me they'd left their 4x4 in the valley below. They were astonished the 911 got up there 😂

Great video as always. I just swapped my winter wheels on to my 997.1 C2 in Michigan a couple days ago. Car is fantastic in the snow! Great being able to daily my dream car.
