I wish people loved her this much when she was still alive. I remember people making fun of her appearance, her weight loss, her tooth loss, her hair. They all made fun of her. I remember calling them out, saying they would eat their words if something happened to her. Then she died. Then the effigies rose. Where was this love for her when she was alive? Amy deserved it and more. Everyone failed her. But people love a tragedy especially when they make it about themselves. Rest in peace, Amy! You were too good for this world.

When I was 19 I was a runner for the photographers at the Brit Awards. I remember running down a corridor lined with black curtains and I saw a tiny little girl dressed in a red and black dress and huge hair with 3 enormous bodyguards and as I got closer, I slowed right down to a walk as I realised who it was, I starred at her in awe and she looked me in the eyes and I could literally feel her soul. I gathered my sense of urgency again and ran off to deliver the camera rolls to the media room. I’ll never forget that day and it always makes me choke up a bit when I see her videos or hear her music.
