If miyagi fought kim sun Yung, he would have known and remembered the name in karate kid 3 when Terry came to offer apologies for kreese's dishonorable actions, and if that were true, he never would have allowed terry to continue speaking in the yard on their first meeting.

I have doubts that Miyagi and Kim Sun-Yung ever met, and here's why:

When Terry Silver first introduced himself to Miyagi, he stated that "Master Kim Sun-Yung extends his apologies for Kreese's disgraceful actions", but Miyagi never showed any sort of reaction to that, other than to accept this apology. Why would he believe that to be true if he actually knew him?....
