Hubble Spots Oldest, Farthest Galaxy Ever Discovered

Using the Hubble Space Telescope, scientists discovered Galaxy z8_GND_5296, which might've formed 13.1 billion years ago.

It is the oldest light that has formed into a galaxy we have seen. How old other galaxies are, are not based on direct observations - this is and therefore is also the oldest galaxy we have seen (seen (as in observed) being the operative word)

It's so far away that light took 13.1 billion years to reach us. So the image we see is this galaxy like it was 13.1billion years ago

everyone refers to the most distant galaxy as the oldest because it took light from this galaxy 14 bil. years to reach us... but the light form our milky way took just as long to reach them also, so to them the milky way is the oldest.

firstly. all matter was created at about the same time and so it is only as old as everything else. i dont see how it can be the oldest galaxy just because it is the furthest away... there may be some near us that are very old. finally, it isnt even the newest galaxy because there are galaxies that we can easily see forming right now nearish to us. all that it is is the most distant...

according to the big bang theory your 100% right, but keep in mind its THEORY not fact, so many of this things shown by NASA are yet to be shown if they are true or false. if you ask me i dont think that NASA is telling us the real truth about what they know about how the universe was created. thats why we need more civilian space exploration.

Cool, one of the oldest galaxies  (as far as we know) IN the universe .... Hell yeah :)
Now the question comes, where is the life, is it hiding somewhere around the stars in this galaxy ?   - Interesting, if this galaxy has a x300 faster rate of stars development, that must mean it has Lots of Sun`s and light.
So i come to the conclusion : If there is water on a planet, moon(or something) there is light for shure, as well .... Then there might be "Alien" Plant life, micro ogranisms and possibly intelligent life (such as, animals, insects, meybe even Humanoids)
Lets hope that soon we will learn more about this Galaxy  :>
