As beautiful as this re-recording is, it shows how unbelievably ahead of his time Mutt Lange was. Everyone else has been playing catch-up for almost 30 years!

You know, as far as ageing vocals go, Joe's are very respectable. Can you imagine David Coverdale or Jon Bon Jovi being able to do re-recordings of their classic material without sounding like a banshee or completely destroying their vocal chords? Or both? Credit to Joe for still being able to sing like this.

Although the original sounds better, I still like this version, and I applaud them for re-recording the songs to stick the middle finger at Universal. One does not simply mess with Def Leppard.

I love it.  Mutt Lange himself was floored by the quality of the re-recordings.  Def Leppard did this out of necessity, as the original recordings were in limbo due to a piss poor contract.  I'd rather they re-release the whole catalogue and get their music on iTunes than have only classic albums with no means of evolving into the digital age.
