TifTuf. No Fertiliser & Little Care or Water for 8 Weeks How Did It Go?
Показать описание
I installed this TifTuf in my back yard late Spring and due to extreme heat for 2 weeks at the time of install, I fertilised...
I haven't done much else for the last 8 weeks.
This lawn is in Port Augusta and while this has been a strange and mostly mild summer, there has also been terrible winds and a few days of extreme heat here and there.
You have seen me get a new TifTuf lawn to a bowling green however I have done that before and I really wanted to test the claims of Lawn Solutions in regards to this variety not needing much fertiliser or water.
The water claims I have proved before. If your soil is well managed and you have a good root system you can truly get away with spells of no water (10 days between deep watering). Apart for the few times that it did rain (and it was never much by the way) the watering has been minimal. TifTuf has great drought tolerance and basically locks in the lawn and sits tight, basically keeping the condition and colour as it is in a drought dormant state. Pretty good.
Mowing was mostly once a week. A bit of seed head activity but nothing that I wouldn't expect especially in summer with drought conditions and up and down temperatures.
Mowing was done mostly with a rotary mower about once a week. A couple of mows with a cylinder mower for another video so be sure to keep your eye on the channel by subscribing.
The height of cut was generally 25mm and upped to about 30mm.
Thatch wasn't too bad.
Absolutely no fertiliser and I think this is still looking pretty decent.
Well the next thing for this lawn is a late summer dethatch and level, get a grow in repair and start really looking after this patch which all the lawn goodies and some cylinder mower.
