It seems Adar was telling the truth as much as he rebelled against Sauron to save his orcs from Sauron’s attempts to sacrifice them in his early experiments to create the Rings of Power

Sauron apparently faked his death, and Adar usurped his plan to create Mordor as a country for Orcs, not knowing Sauron used him to do it for him

Now Sauron will take back what truly belongs to him, by taking out Adar and reclaiming Mordor for himself
