‘Historic moment in British history’: England and Wales no longer majority Christian

Sky News contributor Daisy Cousens says England and Wales no longer being majority Christian is “quite a historic moment in British history”.

“This actually looks to be the first time that the majority of people in England and Wales haven’t identified as Christian since about the seventh century AD,” Ms Cousens told Sky News host Rowan Dean.

With the decline of Christianity has come a moral, social, intellectual, and financial decline in the West, the likes of which we haven't seen before. Well in some sense, whether you profess to be a Christian or not, you have to acknowledge that in these once Christian majority countries at least people have the freedom to choose or even change their religion. Can't say the same for other countries who have majorities of other faiths where you can actually get punished should you choose to leave your faith and being irreligious is hardly or not even a viable option. Surely people who are loathing this news are not suggesting that this is something to be envy of?

not actually true, Christianity is still the majority by far. This published figure is all the others added up together. Don't worry, while there is a majority of Christians in the UK which there is and the monarch is the head of the Anglican Church, we in the UK are still a Christian country.
