This scene was so cute because Kirito had always been shy and awkward so I'm really glad they managed to show us this side of him that we don't often get to see.

Knowing that he later learns to perfectly sheath his sword with flare and everything makes the fact that he fails to do it here a million times funnier since you can just picture him going back to some inn and practicing how to do it over and over

I love how adorable Kirito is in this scene. You really get that he's a shy person and wants to impress Asuna, but screws up and walks off embarrassed. Adds more character to him.

This entire scene really sold to me that this is a far superior story than what we saw on S1. Kirito and Asuna had more depth to their character on progressive. Not to mention their first encounter and interaction afterwards looks really cute and wholesome on this movie

I’m so glad they look their age in the movie and that Kirito is the awkward little kid he’s supposed to be. He can fight just fine in the heat of the moment and put on airs and act when he needs to but he really is just an awkward guy and I absolutely adored him missing the sheathe when he was trying to put the sword away
