How to repair an iPhone 12 Pro Max Face ID feature after the front flex cable has been torn.

This iPhone 12 Pro Max Face ID system was the victim of a technician error. Apple's Face ID system utilizes components that are "married" to the phones motherboard. This makes swapping out something like the flood illuminator impossible. In this video we will demonstrate how to transfer the customers flood illuminator to a new "donor" flex cable.

thank you so much for posting that this is possible to do without any 'very special' equipment. in changing the bottom speaker on my iphone 12pm I tore the display cable (didn't open it properly). ordered a new display. replacing that, tore the proximity cable. UGH. ordered a new speaker/proximity cable. one on the way and going to give this a try.

Is replacing only the flood illuminator sensor to a new cable sufficient to retain Face ID? I have seen from others that replacing the ambient light sensor is also needed to retain Face ID
