The Beatles - Now And Then (Official Audio)

Now and Then's eventful journey to fruition took place over five decades and is the product of conversations and collaborations between the four Beatles that go on to this day. The long mythologised John Lennon demo was first worked on in February 1995 by Paul, George and Ringo as part of The Beatles Anthology project but it remained unfinished, partly because of the impossible technological challenges involved in working with the vocal John had recorded on tape in the 1970s. For years it looked like the song could never be completed. But in 2022 there was a stroke of serendipity. A software system developed by Peter Jackson and his team, used throughout the production of the documentary series Get Back, finally opened the way for the uncoupling of John’s vocal from his piano part. As a result, the original recording could be brought to life and worked on anew with contributions from all four Beatles. This remarkable story of musical archaeology reflects The Beatles’ endless creative curiosity and shared fascination with technology. It marks the completion of the last recording that John, Paul and George and Ringo will get to make together and celebrates the legacy of the foremost and most influential band in popular music history.

Never in my life did I think I could ever say "you hear the new Beatles song?"

My grandpa is a big beetles fan, and its sad to say but he's nearing the end of his life, and I'm just glad he got to hear this before he passed

My 94 year-old dad, who wouldn't buy 'Meet The Beatles' for me in 1964 when I was 9 because "they're only a passing fad" just called to say he heard on the news there's a new Beatles record and he didn't want me to miss out. The lyrics made me cry like a baby because life goes by just like that and 1964 feels like yesterday.

Paul deserves so much credit for never letting go of his dream to finish John’s song as a Beatles song and as a tribute to his dear friend.
Thanks to all who contributed to this production! ❤️

I lost a very close friend today. She was 63 and I am 26. The Beatles are what sparked our connection. What a beautiful tribute to her and the best band ever. Long live The Beatles and my dear friend. ❤

When he died, John Lennon was 40. Today, Paul McCartney is 81. To hear them singing together on this haunting song... I want to call this "timeless, " but it's really a time-full testament to the power of music and -- ultimately -- love and friendship.

I love seeing all the teenage Beatles fans in the comments, excited that they get to hear a new Beatles song. I'm 51. We all get to enjoy this together!

This song is currently #1 on the apple charts. Think about that. 60 years after their first #1 single, they're still topping the charts. They truly are the greatest band ever. A shame how John and George never got to see this. A beautiful and poignant final song to forever etch them into history. Long live the Beatles.

Hearing old Paul singing with young John is insane. George delivers as always, even from beyond the grave. Ringo's still got it. How I love this band.

My dad was dying, a huge Beatles and Lennon fan, my last words do him on Friday was to see if he could hold on a few more days to hear this song. He passed hours after I left. Listening to this song today, for that moment with this message, it’s absolutely perfect. Thank you.

My father died last week age 76. He was a lifelong Beatles fan, and he would have loved to hear this last Beatles song. I have fond memories of him playing all his Beatles singles and albums on our old Pye radiogram in the lounge on a Sunday evening after bath time when I was young in the 70s and early 80s. His treasured Beatles albums and singles are the only possession of my father’s I have now and each time I play them it will remind me of my father, and how the Beatles were the soundtrack to my childhood. This song is for you dad... xxx

He says "One, Two.." and then whispers three and four because there's only two Beatles members left!

My dad said to me, shortly before passing away. “Name me one other band that old folks like me, middle aged people, young adults, teens and kids listen to. There is no other band that has bridged that gap like The Beatles have. They truly are timeless.”

And seeing the comments and all the different people in here celebrating this song, my dad was right. RIP Dad. All things must pass.❤
