Disgraced South Carolina lawyer Alex Murdaugh was sentenced to life in prison for the murders of his wife, Maggie, and his 22-year-old son Paul. After six weeks of testimony, it took less than three hours for them to announce the guilty verdict. Juror Craig Moyer says it only took about 45 minutes of discussion to reach a unanimous verdict. Murdaugh's son Buster and brother John Marvin were in court as Judge Clifton Newman blasted the disgraced attorney.

The judge is the best. Soft spoken, well spoken, a true leader, a true gentleman. Prosecutor and jury great. Justice prevails.

That is what justice is about, no one no matter how rich or how poor is above the law

It’s sad when you realize Maggie saw her son laying dead on the ground, her husband had his gun, and she still ran past him in order to run to her son.

His sons expression says it all. He doesn't even care that his Dad is being locked up.

Buster couldn’t even name his own fathers birthday. That family was not as close as they portrayed themselves.

I think what he means when he says he could never hurt his wife and son, is that he desperately wishes he could never hurt his wife and son.
Sometimes when we tell ourselves something over and over we end up believing it.

It's a shame that every case such as this isn't a death sentence. Evil needs to be swept off the earth

It's good to finally see a rich person face real consequences for his crime instead of getting a slap on the wrist because he has a lot of money.

He deserves to be in prison after what he did

I love that judge! Kind but assertive.

Given the corruption in that town and the power that his last name holds there, would he not have been charged if the victims were randoms… like when his son killed that girl on the boat and got away with it

I was hoping there would be some sort of saving grace for him….only because I had hoped that a father and husband couldn’t be capable of this but evil knows no bounds 😞 the judge seems like a very lovely person. Him and Les seemed like they could be friends in real life 💕

I love this judge. I’ve watched a few of his cases here on youtube and find him intelligent, eloquent and righteous. Good man.
