Well Excal Umbra feels more like a person rather than a warframe that you make from parts.I dont know how to say it but he has more character than a common warframe.He also looks way cooler that prime excal.

Excal umbra is actually a living breathing frame, maybe the only one which can function when not controlled by the operator. Get out of excal umbra by pressing 5 and see him cover ur operator and freely moving.

I agree that Prime should stay as an exclusive, despite the fact that he would be nice to have, and that Umbra is a good alternative for players wanting Prime. If people are going to be upset just because he is not Prime then let them be that way. Nothing the rest of the community says will deter them from their opinion.

i see Umbra as a “prime starter” since it can be the first special warframe you can get if you are new and go all out to rank 5 and do the quest.
Even so, i believe the death orb thing was necessary to give the “lua brings you strenght” a little funny meaning, since there is a conection between lua and the void, but is still fun to play as umbra and he can give us the feeling of having a “Prime” Excalibur.
Umbra is exactly what it means, he is the shadow of Excalibur prime, a moon that can only glow thanks to the sun, Excalibur Prime...
But anyway, im rambling so i better stop here, thanks if you took the time to read this.

Umbra feels alive. Especially if you switch to The Operator, he fights alongside them.

I wish there are more Warframes that have sentience.

excal prime just needs to be reskined at this point. its just gotten more and more ugly over time. I don't even own one but I think it would be a nice gesture if DE made excal prime look better

Yeah, I've been asked a few times why do I play excal that much (excal main here). He was the perfect suit for me and then came umbra with its lore and Passive and it doesn't feel like you equip just another wf but in a battle it more feels like a partner. You know that it has feelings and it makes a huge difference.

If DE just buffs his passive when you go operator, then he's 100% amazing. Because sometimes he bugs out when he's not being controlled by the player which sucks.

Looking back now, it feels like such a shame that we don’t have more frequent story content. As you can probably tell from my profile picture, I’ve mained Umbra since his release on PS4. And for the first 2, 3 months, he still did have that special “not just another Warframe” feeling, that sense that he was an actual character. That being said, fast forward to now and I’ve just recently had to remind myself of how special the frame actually was to me straight after playing the quest. I’ve decided to equip the Sunder helmet to try and remind myself of that, because it’s been so long, I forgot my favourite frame was special.

I am perfectly happy with the outcome of the whole sacrifice update. As a newer player and an excal main I'm happy to have a direct upgrade to my favorite frame. This was a nice solution by DE as well as a wonderful quest in my opinion.

Umbra also has the awesome passive that when you use your 5th ability Umbra will follow you and act like a spectre instead of just standing there doing nothing like every other frame.

I like this frame a lot. I missed on prime due to not playing the game. But now I can get a variant of the prime who is just as powerful. Good to know
