Although the current mayor of Łódź wants to renovate and repair dilapidated buildings, and the city has the funds to do so, most of the ruined buildings belong to private owners who cannot afford to repair them. Moreover, they are also against selling their property to the local government. The result is many rebuilt, well-kept buildings standing next to collapsing structures, which collapse at least once a year, blocking roads and forcing detours.

Poles are a very wise, clever and enterprising nation. The whole future is ahead of them, they have a population of 38 mioli and money for further development.
