This kind of effect or pedal is really overlooked by many. It is especially useful for live rigs that use a lot of pedals. Hum or Hiss is always a problem when you use a lot of guitar pedals. Using a gate at the end of your signal path can really help tame the unwanted sounds. Let me know if you have any questions.
