I'm convinced that the best advice is to experiment yourself and find what works for you. Everybody's skin is different. I have been using the St. Ives salicylic acid on just my nose for, like, 20 years. I don't put my nightly lotion on my nose but do put my day SPF lotion on it. I never have "greasy nose" and my pores are totally minimized. I swear by the St. Ives; it doesn't tear up my skin - 10/10 for me.

I have really dry skin and I love the St. Ivy’s. Really moisturizes my skin and prevents from my face being stiff and ashy. This was pretty much the only thing I used on my face as a teenager and twenties with Aveeno lotion. People always asked me what my skin care was because I looked way younger. Don’t really know why they say not to use it.

I am glad the Sunday Riley I purchased was part of a wonderful Ulta offer, because the fragrance is nauseating. I used it on my hands followed by Cereva ointment and gloves because even on my hands the fragrance was too strong.

St Ives is the only face wash that has stopped spots and doesn’t irritate my skin.

That retinol is no joke. I got some little samples of it once and tried it thinking it wouldn’t be as strong as a prescription retinol… it was strong!

I had a dermatologist, I had insurance and they were in LA with many awards, that recommended st Ives scrub. It left my face feeling baby soft. It may not work for some, but works for others. Not good to just dismiss it like this because of some fear mongering online. I feel like some skin enthusiast who isn't even certified, called Hyram, started the St Ives scrub hate and then everyone jumped on that bandwagon.

I'll never forget the day I scrubbed my face to death using that apricot scrub. It ruined my skins smooth texture and skin barrier so badly and I pay for it to this day 😭

I bought the Olay Retinol at Costco and I hated it. It pills on me. I wash my face and only use that, without layering anything else and it all comes right off. I threw out both jars.

I used to use St Ives scrub growing up. Then I stopped using it for over a decade because of all the fear-mongering surrounding it. I recently picked it up again at the store after 10 years and guess what? I fell in love with it again.😅 I don't find it to be as harsh and abrasive as people make it out to be. Of course I don't recommend it for people with super sensitive skin or if you are actively breaking out. I have acne-prone skin but I don't feel like it's exacerbating my acne.

What about the polyethylene glycol and or polysorbates? Not using anything with those items in it

Cerave is horrible, gave me acne and excema, and my skin isnt sensitive.
