I love that the tide is turning and it’s no longer cool to buy into overconsumption, so many de-stash videos is making me happy.

ELISE. any time you over pack your suitcase on the trip BACK home...
Tip:
Don't pay the Airlines.
Go to the Post Office or Pack&Mail center and mail it to yourself. It may arrived a few days after you, but it's worth it.

Awwww Elise! You got my blushing over here. I could say the same about you and more. I'm so inspired by what you've done with your business and channel in the short time I've known you. You're gonna take it to the moon and beyond, I just know it!! Can't wait to see your Open Book Wrap :-)

How about a follow up video when you get all (or some) of these projects done? I’d like to see how they turn out.

I'm so in love with the sudden amount of stash-busting videos from all sorts of creators right now! It feels like there's a new yarn everyone's gotta have lately but I'm all against this consumerism phase we're in and want to focus on busting out the stash I have rather than wasting money making it grow larger. Plus I need space to store other stuff rather than balls of yarn lol

Great destash projects - yes, you can purchase 1 skein to use up 3 others!
Toni is my Tunisian crochet queen. You are my Amigurumi crochet queen ❤

I recently started using my yarn stash to crochet lots of hats and scarves for a local charity that is looking forward to receiving them in the fall.

I love these stash busting videos. I literally have binged several just this week. I’m using up my yarn by making those colorful baskets with the handles.

I'm trying to destash my yarn too. Funny, I'm also trying to live by the rule of St. Benedict, so one of the rules is to keep busy. I think I have enough yarn to keep me busy for the next year or so. Thanks for the ideas. God bless!

I’m making Wheelchair Wraps for my summer project, and then donating them this fall to a local nursing home near me. It’s a perfect project for acrylic yarn, and I’m using both worsted and DK weight. Once you know the pattern, you can just hum right along! (And the wraps are perfect for those who are seated as they don’t get in the way, and are easily washed.)

It is so fun and contagious to see how enthusiastic you are about yours Stash busting projects!!
In the last year I've been donating all the yarns I had for over a year and never used!!! I gave to my " yarny friends" in our weekly knitting / crochet group, some others to charity, and some to a local school who have a knitting- crochet group for kids under 12 yrs old 🥰
But as someone who crochet 99.9 % of the times amigurumis, I would like you to make the same type of video, but with amigurumis projects please, smalls quick one but also bigger ones ( they take more yarns!!!😉)
Thank you for you always excellent and inspiring videos!

as a new crocheter, it’s hard to not fall into overconsumption especially with yarn. i’ve learned a good habit is keeping track of which projects i’ll ACTUALLY make, complete and use/ be proud of in some way. for example, i never use cotton, but i bought a 250g skein of a cotton/polyester blend to make a reusable shopping bag and i live how it’s coming out! for $10 i got a reusable bag and saved money by not having to buy more bags when shopping and buying a reusable bag. i recently started a blanket of all my leftover yarn that’s too big to use for stuffing amigurumi! i hope these habits carry on into the future, because honestly if anyone is struggling with overconsumption, the best thing that worked for me to help was to make things i’ll actually use/need that way you don’t have to buy from a company and you can feel proud that you’ve made something that you can use for a long time! like clothes, socks, shopping bags, etc!

I’m in the same boat named “yarn abundance.” I remember the days when I might have a spare skein or two, but to date I have so much yarn that I have filled over 12 totes, and that’s after purging and gifting a decent quantity. Fortunately they are separated by fiber content, which helps, but I have this need to knit and crochet my way through them. I’ll be checking out the patterns you’ve recommended in hopes of reducing the hoard.
