I think you're forgetting the biggest factor: Covington was always mostly bark, not bite, low skill but a good work rate. He always had a ceiling against genuinely talented fighters.

Chael is embellishing the details hard here. Colby looked like a shell of his former self. Buckley could tell before Colby shot because he looked like molasses. The doc's stoppage was a gift. You could tell by his expression that all he wanted was to make it to a decision and he would've been happy with a moral victory.

Chael.. please, i understand and respect your position. But Buckley was beating Colby up from the opening bell until the stoppage regardless of the cut. Colby's take down attempts were feeble. Barely called a "shot". They were slow, and hesitant. He also knew he was in a fire fight where he did not want to stand in the pocket because Colby fell for Buckley's faints. It was Buckley on point beating Colby up in all facets

Colby hit him a few times solid but his pillowhands didnt faze Buckley, his takedowns looked out of desperation and not thought of. He was gonna go to sleep in round 4 possibly lost eye completely, sure fans wanted to see him KOd.
