This might be the greatest video of all time

I've slept on the streets in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. I've flown planes over Medellin during the Escobar-era. I've fought the Viet Cong in the jungles of Vietnam. But none of those horrible spine-tingling things can get remotely close to the fear I felt while driving through West Linn, Oregon. It might, quite frankly, be the most harrowing experience of my life. The incredible story of Uncle Chael made me emotional.

Being from West Linn, I can attest to the atrocities mentioned in this video.

"he's not even within the lines" how his voice cracks a bit like he's tearing up...

0:25 is harrowing. The pause, licking the lips (clearly dry from anxiety), looking off to the side, gulping, looking down, looking up for help and then NEARLY a big breath out but kept it under control.

This man has seen things.
We haven’t been down that way.
We haven’t walked the mean streets of West Linn Oregon.

Truly inspiring to see where this man came from and all the obstacles he's been through to make it where he is.

The best promo ever cut. Chael sonnen is a legend. To cut this kind of promo and put on this tone of sincerity like it was horrible. No one could match this level of hilariousness

this unironically makes me respect chael more. he didn't have his back against the wall or anything he just grew up normally. yet he still decided he wanted to become a fighter and used the motivation he had to become successful at it. in a way that is a great story in it of itself.

Honestly I was raised in Stockton and Harlem and have spent my fair share of time working in 3rd world countries (Arms dealer), and I drove through West Linn Oregon one day, and let me tell you me and my group of armed bodyguards locked the doors, shit our pants and all agreed to never go back. It was truly terrifying, and you would have to be a legitimate gangster to be born and raised there.

The UFC was way better with Chael Sonnen.  I wish he would have been champion.  If he had won the title, the world would be a better place.

I'm from Portland, and I recently decided to get away from seeing people dead from ODs on fentanyl. I drove up into West Linn. And I was at a red light, behind a guy making a right turn. And he just drove through it. West Linn is a truly lawless place, and Chael was lucky to survive.

All respect for Chael, the guy knows how to promote. I found this video thanks to Jon Jones fiasco.
