Most teams just want a Rodri but end up with a Kalvin Phillips

tricky to find a DM because adacemys dont churn out rodris, world class players are few and far between and DMs are made, not born

The answer is pretty simple. Chelsea bought them all.

Tbh, Rodri wasn’t particularly like this when he first came. He was a little clumsy on the ball and Pep used him as a CB at some games. He eventually learned and grew into this version of himself when he became the starting DM😂😂 point is, Rodri progressively became what he is, they won’t find a “Rodri”, they need to make one from their players and for that you need a great coach who can pull it out of them

Its interesting to me no one is talking about Wieffer to Brighton. As a Feyenoord fan ive witnessed him for 1, 5 year now, and he is incredibly well rounded. Can defend in big spaces, can break the lines by passing and carrying, score goals, you name it and he does it. Hes also proven himself in the champions league, not just the eredivisie. Im sure everyone will come to the conclusion the 30 mil Brighton paid for him is a steal very soon

Tchuameni is a wrong example. He can not dictate the tempo of the game like Rodri.

The best example of this was Mac Allister and Caicedo in 22/23

Shows how underrated Sergio Busquets was.

Xabi Alonso, Andrea Pirlo (and Michael Carrick i guess), if they were playing right now at their prime, would cost at least 120 million in today's market.

There are solid alternatives Palacios from leverkusen, Joshua Kimmich was rumoured to want to leave also and than, Wharton is not there yet but is solid.

Arsenal got declan rice for 100. You gotta pay big fees for big players. Dms control your defense and buildup

Also the idea no one can sufficently take time to make one. Bajcetic could be the best 6, but no manager is truly Klopp level in that regard

The problem is that Enzo, Caicedo and Rice were sold at ridiculous prices, so now every team prices his DM at those values. I know that Enzo and Rice finally seem to be playing as 8s, but they were bought as DM. The market is currently in a state similar to when Neymar was purchased by PSG and all wingers suddenly were worth 120 mil and up. It will stabilize eventually.

So glad we got caicedo when we did. Even if his value has decreased he’s going to be well worth the money because he’s well rounded and always improving

Ederson from Atalanta is on the upwards trajectory. He’s quite good. More of a ball winner than a regista but if he continues this form I doubt he’ll stay at La Dea for much longer

Rodri can’t defend large spaces at an elite level. He can do pretty much everything else though and with City’s structure he’s not exposed too often

Glad Bruno got a mention, he’s world class

Honestly as a Liverpool fan I can say we watched Juventus buying Douglas Luiz and did absolutely nothing to acquire him

Adam Wharton is the man. Surprised more people aren’t saying this - the architect of Palace’s end of season run. UCL level on the ball, amazing defensive numbers.
