Marin bikes have been on my radar for a while now so this was an excellent video on the Rift Zone. My only issue is the weight at just over 34 lbs. That is NOT lightweight, especially when you consider that my nearly stock (just modified with 1x SRAM GX 12 speed) 2001 Cannondale Jekyll comes in at just under 29.5 lbs. My 2012 Scalpel is under 26lbs.. Somehow as MTB's have progressed in capabilities and technology they have gotten FAT like the rest of America. 🤣 I'd likely jump on a Marin Rift Zone for sure if they offered a bare frame option in alloy instead of only in Carbon.
Back to my feedback on your video, Great job of highlighting that Marin includes a torque tool with their bikes, KUDOS to them for that! I'll definitely will be watching more videos from you in the future.

Just sold my Marin. It’s an excellent bike BUT if you are tall and ride aggressively I wouldn’t recommend it. My XL frame cracked at the seam at the top tube right after my first year. It was replaced under warranty. Also, the reach is pretty short so I picked up a longer stem. Another thing that I would upgrade is the brakes. I had the older 180/160 version and the rear brake faded out on steep descents. Lastly, they probably fixed it but my dropper post lever was poorly designed as it would prematurely wear out the cable. I upgrade the dropper to the 150 and that one came with a much better designed lever.

Hey Mike, if you want really good brakes and single finger ones just grab xt levers, makes a huge difference, had the m200s on my giant stance!

i have the mt200's, first ride when I took out my new bike, it was weak and a little scary. Then I did a hard braking on the way back home on a downhill asphault trail and the brakes got instantly 3x+ more powerful. it is a funny feeling

I have a Riftzone 3 27.5 2022 I hope this bike will be the last bike ill ever need and last me years to come I don’t plan to get another bike crossing my fingers I heard of the earlier models 2022 and earlier seat tube where the 2nd small tube is welded is it’s weak point and cracks over time hopefully that doesn’t happen to mine

I had an X Fusion shock on my 2017 Polygon T7. The shock worled well and I had no complaints with it. Nice bike

It's not a bad spec for a budget bike. Not a fan of the low end SRAM forks but that can be solved easily enough.

You shud look at BTWIN bikes - rockrider series my hardball cost 550 awesome bike and the other specs upto ST900 they've 3 full suspension, all between £550 - £850 .

Veetire makes some good tires. They make some pretty good mountain bike trails tires. I've used the flow snap tires a couple times.
