Unsweetened Applesauce Recipe in the Microwave For One 🍎🍏🍋👨‍🍳 | Easy and Healthy Vegan Dessert 🥣

My unsweetened applesauce recipe made in the microwave is a quick, easy, and healthy way to make dessert for one. Learning how to make a small batch of homemade applesauce is the best way to experiment with different varieties of apples, combinations of spices, and cooking times so that you can figure out what is best for your palate. This plain unsweetened applesauce recipe with no sugar and no butter is very versatile: not only can it be used for baking cakes and muffins, but it is also vegan, too! If you are looking for an easy and healthy dessert to stick to your New Year's resolution, or simply to take advantage of seasonal produce, this microwave unsweetened applesauce recipe is perfect.

This unsweetened applesauce recipe is super easy because not only are there just two ingredients, apples and lemon juice, but also because you do not have to peel the apples! Like I said, this recipe is perfect if you want a quick and healthy dessert for one person after a long day at work.

You need 2/3 pound (300 grams) of apple chunks for this recipe, so you will need about a pound of whole, fresh apples. Best of all, you can use whatever type of apple you want. Many people like to cook with Granny Smith apples, but I prefer Golden Delicious because, in my opinion, they are the perfect combination of flavor, sweetness, and tartness. Making a small batch of applesauce in the microwave allows you to experiment, so you may even want to try a mix of apples.

Since you do not have to peel the apples, all you have to do is cut around the core and measure out 2/3 pound of apple chunks, about 3 cups. You then put the apple chunks into a microwave-safe bowl before drizzling in the lemon juice to add flavor and prevent browning.

Then, you cover the bowl and microwave the apple chunks for 3, 5-minute increments, stirring every 5 minutes. Once the apple chunks have cooked for a total of 15 minutes, use an immersion blender to puree the cooked apples into homemade applesauce. Although you can serve it immediately after taking it out of the microwave, this homemade unsweetened applesauce is always delicious cold.

Honestly, my homemade unsweetened applesauce recipe made in the microwave is amazing. It is a lot thicker than storebought applesauce, the extra cooking time concentrating the natural sugars and flavors. The thickness also gives this rustic old fashioned applesauce a smooth texture that is unforgettably delicious.

Although I think it is delicious as is, you may want to add spices. I recommend adding spices to the soon-to-be applesauce before you put it into the microwave for the first time. I think this a lot of flavorings would be good in this applesauce, but I would recommend a combination of cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.

This old fashioned unsweetened applesauce recipe made in the microwave was amazing. It is the perfect quick and easy dessert for one, especially if you are trying to following a healthy diet. This applesauce would also be perfect for vegans. If you make this applesauce, I know you will love it.

I absolutely love Apple Sauce, However, I never thought about making my own until now. Seeing you make this in the microwave I am totally going to give this a try. I have never tried the Golden Delicious Brand of Apples, however I am going to give that a try. I love you used your Scale. I love using my scale when I am baking. I cannot believe how you were able to get 3 Cups of cut apples without using a lot of apples. I love the finish product. I love the presentation at the end with the different color of apples with your apple sauce. You did a wonderful amazing job. I truly enjoyed this from beginning to end. Thank you so kindly for sharing

Hi Chef
I’m going to be making an applesauce pie from a recipe on the YouTube channel Rocky Creek Homestead. I want a very smooth mouth feel, and I was wondering if when I make your applesauce, if I should peel the apples. ?
