Scene: Jinx vs. Rictus

Storyline: The City of Piltover and The underbelly of Zuan played a major role in tearing them apart. The rivalry between the cities continues to grow with 'hextech', a path for any individual to dominate magical power in Piltover, and in Zuan, 'shimmer' the new drug continues to transform humans into demons.

In one scene, Rictus proved to be more smarter than most people fighting Jinx by pulling on her braids

I wish this fight was longer because it was such a cool one, rictus spamming swift attacks that just keeps missing due to how quick Jinx is was just delightfull to watch.

I love that you can see that Jinx is much more “here” than her previous fight scenes where she was more in her head. Like a lot of her early fight scenes it feels like her body is moving ahead of her mind, and she is not even there. But here you see her being emotionally invested in the fight, as now she has people to fight for.

I have always loved the "highly competent and loyal 2nd in command to the bad guy" character type and Rictus is just such a perfect encapsulation of this architype. I feel like it is surprisingly easy to write a character like this, who is not doubt a bad guy, but not have him actually feel at all like a bad guy yet I don't feel like it is done enough. Show sometimes feel like they need to be deep or complicated with every character, but having a simple characters like Rictus is great. Also the fact that they do such an incredible job SHOWING you how important those green runes are throughout season 2, without literally EVER naming them is just fantastic storytelling.

To me and my kids his name will always be Beefy-McBeeferton as we didn't actually know his name until finding this clip on Youtube. To Beefy-McBeeferton - I am sorry that Warwick wouldn't respect the 1v1, you were robbed.

0:43 Jinx succeeded in landing a single hit against Rictus. If you watch the scene at 0.25x speed you’ll notice that she trampled his right hand, not only his spear!

arcane is one of the best things to come out because the technicalities behind this scene, and the narrative signficance for Jinx to save Caitlyns life. Not to mention Rictus tactical prowess. They did not disappoint.
