Fun with Transparent Aluminum Oxynitride

The video has some fun with the concept of "transparent aluminum" as humorously depicted in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

In reality, the 1986 film reference was to the 1984 patent application for the CERAMIC Aluminum Oxynitride which you will find marketed under the name ALON by Surmet Corporation.

Its properties, to be detailed below, enable it to be used as a transparent, bulletproof armor material requiring far less thickness and weight than traditional bulletproof glass.

This scene was always special to me. I suppose it was special to many others as well. Remember when in the first Star Trek "reboot" when Spock shows the young Scotty his equations for "trans-warp" transportation? As Scotty would say as I recall "it's like shooting a bullet whilst riding on a horse to hitting another bullet from another also shooting from a horse". Or something like that. Please bear with me but I'm going on my feeble memory.
But those two scenes are correlated. One from Scotty to a new scientist and the other from Spock to a new Scotty scientist. The two scenes are similar but they are different. Tom, can you somehow splice the two scenes side by side without wasting too much of your precious time?
Nice job and thank you for a special favor showing this to me. I see you clearly went out of your way. Please come to Austin and let me know when you arrive. DPA.
