Why Hollywood Dropped Jim Caviezel

Jim Caviezel started gaining prominence as an actor in the 1990s with roles in dramas and action movies like Wyatt Earp, The Rock, and G.I. Jane. He received critical acclaim for his gripping portrayal of private Robert Witt in Terrence Malick’s epic war film The Thin Red Line.

In the 2000s Caviezel continued starring in popular movies like Angel Eyes and The Count of Monte Cristo. But his biggest -- and most controversial -- movie to date was Mel Gibson’s biblical drama The Passion of Christ, in which he played Jesus Christ.

But today Caviezel is nowhere to be seen in Hollywood anymore. Here is why he was dropped by Tinseltown.

Jim is the antithesis of what Hollywood is and that’s not really a bad thing.
He’s a devout Christian, he is a family man and he stays true to his marital vows by not even doing semi racy scenes with other actresses in films, even if it’s all for pretend. He seems like a real deal. I hope he continues his impressive career despite Hollywood’s holier than thou attitude, even though they are a shady, morally corrupt business.

5 years ago sound of freedom wrapped up...and got suppressed. Finally in 2023 the movie was shown in theaters. Jim Caviezal is so much more than a handsome actor....he is a hero.

It appears to me, Jim is selective in what script he accepts, respectful to his wife and honors his faith. That's rare! Jim's a great actor & looking forward to his next venture.
